Cabinetry, Defined.
Stock Cabinetry:
Incremental sizes
(usually 3" apart) are the hallmark of stock cabinetry.
Named "stock" because it is mass produced and stocked
in warehouses, this cabinetry can usually be in your home in a
matter of days. You can usually find what you’ll need for
basic kitchens or baths in stock cabinetry. Your selection of
woods and finishes is limited, mouldings, pulls or knobs may or
may not be available to match your choices. There is a broad
range of price and quality in stock cabinetry. Beware! Just
because it is
stock, don’t assume it is less expensive.
Semi-Custom
Cabinetry:
Some companies will
customize certain cabinets for specific uses. These
customizations can be very helpful and reasonably priced. Your
delivery will be delayed somewhat, but usually you can receive
cabinetry within a month. Once again, depending upon style, wood
species, interior fittings and other hidden costs (installation,
design and planning, hardware, mouldings, etc.), costs can vary
widely. Don’t assume these cabinets are less costly than….
Custom Made
Cabinetry:
This is truly the best
of all worlds! You choose what you need and what will fit your
budget, via style, wood and finishes. Your kitchen or
bathroom will be truly unique, one of a kind! Manufacturers’
craftsmen make each cabinet separately, as drawn and specified
by your designer. You will appreciate the no wasted space of
unnecessary "frills" or extra items you don’t need
or don’t want. Your cabinetry is delivered to your home on
their own trucks. This ensures there
is no shipping damage and the reliability of the delivery makes
your kitchen remodeling much more precise.
