A renovated laundry room, this 8' wide area is very long, but the client loves to cook and needed to accommodate many types of preparation equipment and have elbow room, too. Here, the key was the peninsula, which is two sided. The kitchen side has plentiful storage and a pull-out pantry at each end. So that the client can sit with a cup of coffee and view, a pull-out table and stool under it give both! Behind and around the peninsula, 54" high cabinetry with matching Santa Cecilia granite tops face the family room and hold TV and VCR, music equipment, games and much more. The handkerchief pendant lights highlight and illuminate this wonderful accommodation. Opposite, two more pull-out pantries enclose Viking range top and downdraft, oven and loads of storage, all well lit by lights under the wall cabinets. The sub-zero refrigerator holds pantry trays and everyday staples, while looking like furniture, too. We even added utensil rails from Hafele to both backsplashes to accommodate frequently used kitchen tools.
